I am importing a large DB from an Excel spreadsheet into a wordpress DB. I was going to do it manually by creating a new table but decided to import it into the existing wordpress framework as it will allow me to change information manually in the wordpress back end.
I’m using the following code to attempt to loop through each of the terms within my custom taxonomy category-film and then output the term name as a heading together with displaying all the custom posts that belong to that term
I need to get the topmost term (top level ancestor) of a taxonomy term.
I am using list_author_used_terms function below to get the terms used by a specific author (terms of a custom taxonomy ‘wossom’ for a custom post type ‘aya-bi-aya’).
On a site where I filter custom taxonomy terms with FacetWP I’m trying to have the taxonomy term links go back to the homepage with the filters, instead of linking to the taxonomy term archives.
Whenever I update a term it currently redirects me back to the edit-tags.php page for that taxonomy, the term list. Is it possible to instead of redirects to the term list to instead bring me back to the same term I just updated? Similar to how updating a post will bring you back to the same post you just updated.
I’ve got a ‘downloads’ custom post, with his custom taxonomy. The taxonomy has 2 main terms. One of the 2, has 4 sub-terms. I’m currently using the wp templating system to get a standard wpquery of the parent term into a taxonomy-taxonomyname-termname.php page. Till here, all fine.

I know there are a lot of threads about similar issues, but I can’t figure out why my custom sort won’t work in the category admin page. Here is my code to add the ACF field as a column to the category page and register the sorting ability. For some reason the add_action( 'pre_get_posts', 'category_custom_orderby' ); hook isn’t working. Is there something I’m overlooking? Or is there some other way to get the sorting function to work?
